Mike Sarvis began his career in real estate and property management in 1981 with Bank of America. He was responsible for the management of Bank properties held by the Trust Department. Mike also provided relocation and property management services to the employees of Exxon, Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and Cal-Farm Life Insurance Co. As those companies transferred employees in and out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Mike was responsible for selling and managing their homes until a buyer was found. In doing so, he developed personalized marketing, management and finance plans to ensured contractual compliance in all real estate transactions.

In subsequent years, Mike managed real estate for GTE Sprint, Varian, Apple, Tandem Computer, Rational Software, Navigation Technologies and Excite@Home. He was responsible for purchasing, selling, leasing, and managing corporate real estate, including residential properties, office buildings, R&D facilities, manufacturing and warehouse buildings, and distribution facilities in 39 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Mike developed and taught a graduate level course in “Corporate Real Estate Asset Management” at Golden Gate University, and “Techniques and Practices of Income Property Management” at West Valley College.

Mike attended Seattle Pacific University, where he majored in psychology and business. He continued his education at San Jose State University where he earned a master’s degree. Mike has continued his education in real estate, and finance at Golden Gate University.

He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of California and has achieved the professional designation of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management.

He has served as chapter president of the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives and is on the educational advisory committees of the Industrial Developmental Research Council and West Valley College.

Mike has published numerous articles in highly regarded national professional journals and magazines. Read his articles in Journal of Real Estate Finance, Journal of Business Strategy, San Jose Business Journal, Journal of Property Management, and Journal of Industrial Development.
